Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival Case Study

The Client

Brighton Dome is the south coast’s leading multi-arts venue, with three Grade 1 listed buildings made up of Brighton Dome Concert Hall, Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre. A major refurbishment of Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre, formerly the Prince Regent’s riding house, is currently underway. The project will restore breath-taking and previously hidden heritage features as well as provide increased capacity seating, a magnificent new viewing gallery and a creative space for artists to rehearse and develop work.

Requirements

We have been working with Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival for a number of years. We are helping their highly capable in-house IT team with ad-hoc infrastructure projects and systems overhauls.

They call on us for specialist IT infrastructure advice and for additional resources.

What did we do?
We’ve delivered a number of projects over more than 12 years, including:
In-house ticketing system
Replacement of in-house ticketing systems infrastructure for all the Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival events. This was instead of prohibitively expensive cloud licensing solution. They were keen to keep the management of the system in-house.
Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Solution
The above solution includes a BCDR – Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solution with fail-over over two locations. If either systems either side fail the resources can be brought online in the other.
Wi-Fi Infrastructure
State of the art 5G installation; CAT6a and fibre to facilitate the high bandwidth requirements. This is being installed in the Dome to be moved into the Corn Exchange, and the new Café Restaurant and Creative Space areas at a later date on completion of the redevelopment project.
Structured Cabling
We are honoured to be asked in as their trusted partner to start work on extensive structured cabling needed for the latest redevelopment of the buildings. The cabling project will to join up all the technology requirements of the new state-of-the-art creative spaces and the existing offices and Dome Concert Hall.
